Representation in Women’s Health
Saves Lives
Black women in America face a maternal mortality crisis. According to the CDC, Black women are two to three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women — regardless of income or education level.
Research published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences found that Black newborns are significantly more likely to survive when cared for by Black physicians. The same principle extends to OB/GYN care throughout a woman’s life.
When you see a doctor who shares your cultural experience, you’re more likely to ask hard questions, advocate for yourself, and receive care that accounts for the full picture of your health. That’s not a small thing. That’s everything.
This directory exists because finding that doctor shouldn’t take hours of searching. It should take seconds.

You Deserve to Be Heard
Too many Black women leave medical appointments without their concerns fully addressed. You have the right to ask questions, request a second opinion, and expect your pain to be taken seriously.
When you walk into an OB/GYN’s office, you should feel safe, respected, and fully informed. If you don’t — find a doctor who will give you that.
The physicians on this directory have built practices grounded in that belief. They understand that the standard of care should be the same for every woman, regardless of race.
- Ask about all your treatment options — not just one
- Bring someone you trust to your appointments
- Document your symptoms before you go in
- Request a copy of all test results and records
